The idea of translation as the transfer of a message from one language to another is universally accepted, but still too dominant and limiting. Translation is a flexible concept and a flexible process. It can take many forms including those specifically designed for people with sensory disabilities or cognitive difficulties.

Elisa Perego

Elisa Perego, is an associate professor at the Department of Legal, Language, Interpreting and Translation Studies of the University of Trieste. She teaches English linguistics, translation, and translation research methodology at the University of Trieste. Her research interests and publications cover the language and the reception of audiovisual translation, text simplification, and media accessibility.
